Home EV Chargers in Geelong & Surrounds
Cheaper kilometres, charged off your own panels.
Why a Smart Home Charger
Charge Your EV
from Your
Own Roof.
If you've already got solar (or you're planning to), a smart charger lines up with your system. During the day, the car charges off your panels. Overnight, it pulls from your battery or runs on off-peak rates.
For most Geelong households, that's around $0/kWh straight from solar, or 8 c/kWh on off-peak. A standard tariff is 25 to 40 c/kWh. Public fast chargers can run $0.40 to $0.70/kWh.
We'll be upfront: if you do most of your driving during the day and never plug in at night, a basic charger is probably enough. The smart kit pays off when you're charging overnight off solar that's been stored in a battery.

Rebates for Home EV Charging
Solar Victoria offers a one-off rebate for eligible households installing a smart charger paired with solar. The eligibility rules shift every few months, so we'll check what you actually qualify for during the consultation.
The total cost depends on the charger you pick, where it's getting mounted, and the cable run from your switchboard. You'll get an itemised quote with no surprises.
Our Process
How an EV Charger Installation Works
We look at your switchboard, your driveway/garage layout, and ask about your car and daily driving patterns.
We recommend a charger that pairs with your current solar and battery, or sets you up cleanly for one down the track.
If you're eligible for a Solar Victoria EV-charger rebate, we handle the application as part of the installation.
Our A-grade electricians mount and commission the charger, typically in half a day.
We show you the app, set up charging schedules, and make sure the car charges from solar when you want it to.
EV Charger FAQ
Common Questions
Do I need solar before installing a home EV charger?
No. Even without solar, a smart charger still saves money by running on off-peak rates. The real savings kick in once the car is charging off your own panels.
Can I charge my EV from my battery at night?
Yes, with most modern hybrid inverters and a compatible charger. How much depends on your battery size and how much capacity you want to keep aside for the house overnight. We work this out with you during the consultation.
How fast does a 7 kW charger charge a typical EV?
Roughly 40 to 50 km of range per hour for most EVs. A full overnight charge from empty is more than enough for most daily driving.
