Residential solar uses Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) as a point of sale discount. Commercial systems above a certain threshold use Large-scale Technology Certificates (LGCs) instead. These operate differently and are a bit more complex in how they're monitored and distributed.

How do LGCs work for commercial solar?

Systems over 100 kW generate Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGCs) rather than the small-scale STCs used on homes. Do you manage the grid connection and approvals?

Yes. Commercial connections involve your DNSP (distribution network provider), and larger or three-phase systems need pre-approval before install.
